전남대 수의대, One Health에서 기초수의학을 돌아보다

전남대학교 수의과대학이 8월 21~22일(월~화) 담양 드몽드 호텔에서 기초수의학 심포지움을 개최했다.

전남대학교 동물의학연구소, 전남대학교 수의과대학 4단계 BK21 사회문제질환 해결형 글로벌 혁신인재 양성팀, 노드큐어(NodCure)가 공동 주최·주관한 이번 심포지움의 주제는 ‘One Health 시대에 기초수의학의 역할’이었다.

심포지움에는 전남대 수의대 교수 및 학생은 물론, 다른 대학 관계자들도 참석했다. 첫째 날에는 3개의 세션에서 다수의 발표가 진행됐고, 둘째 날에는 패널토의가 이어졌다.

심포지움은 김종춘 전남대 수의대 학장의 인사말과 함께 시작했다.

세션 1은 나운성 전남대 수의바이러스학 교수가 좌장을 맡았으며 ▲Intermediate cranial irradiation temporarily affects hippocampus-dependent learning and memory and decreases hippocampal neurogenesis(강소희 전남대 수의해부학 박사) ▲Low dose radiation effects on intestinal damage and tumor incidence in animal models(김중선 전남대 수의해부학 교수) ▲Cold-induced adaptive thermogenesis is impaired by exposure of Asian sand dust in mice(Bagon Bernadette 전남대 수의생리학 박사) 3개의 발표가 각 30분씩 진행됐다.

세션 2는 김동일 전남대 수의생리학 교수가 좌장을 맡았으며 ▲Evaluation of the efficacy of plant-derived intramuscular vaccination against Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(최재석 전남대 수의바이러스학 연구원) ▲Exposure to Asian sand dust induces respiratory toxicity and exacerbates allergic asthma, a respiratory underlying disease(이세진 전남대 수의약리학 연구원) ▲Skeletal muscle-specific ablation of hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylases affects mitochondrial function and metabolism(이준형 전남대 수의생리학 연구원) ▲IL-1β contributes to lung pathology induced by Mycobacterium abscessus infection by regulating IL-17 production(정도헌 전남대 실험동물의학 연구원) 4개의 발표가 각 15분씩 이어졌다.

마지막 세션 3은 신인식 전남대 수의약리학 교수가 좌장을 맡았으며 ▲Understanding the host-microbiota interaction using an experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis(EAE) animal model(이윤경 순천향대 의과대학 교수) ▲Organoid-based study of epithelial plasticity, damage, and regeneration(김형식 부산대 치과대학 교수) 발표가 30분씩 진행됐다.

둘째 날에는 심포지움의 주제였던 ‘One Health 시대에 기초수의학의 역할’을 주제로 참여연구자 간 2시간가량의 패널 토의가 진행됐다.

이후 김중선 전남대 수의대 부학장의 폐회사를 마지막으로 심포지움이 마무리됐다.
